Staying in the Barrio Affordable Housing in Barrio Logan Teen Producers Project “Affordable rent is very helpful to us for a better life for our family. We have the possibility to save up to own our own house someday, and the children have the opportunity to keep studying, stay in school and go to college.” - Marta Gallardo, Barrio Logan Resident- Rising rents and a lack of affordable housing drive families from the Barrio Logan area. However, some developers want to provide more low-income housing and services for people in the neighborhood. Several models of more hopeful community development and affordable housing are described in the film, and these projects are sensitive to and respect the cultural history and needs of present residents.
